Viola, fed up with the prohibition against women on the stage, leaves the court of Queen Elizabeth I of England to apprentice herself as an actor in Richard Burbage’s theatre. Along the way, she discovers that intrigue is not just a part of life at court; that speaking the words of Shakespeare is a more moving experience than she could ever have imagined; and that love is even more complicated when the whole world thinks you are a boy!
Developed before the release of Shakespeare In Love, What You Will uses a similar premise in a more comedic way.
